Cute Handmade 3D Decoupage Cards - 8 - Bathtime Teddybear

And another card designed using the "Forever Friends - Hugs and Cuddles" paper pack. New baby girl!!! Congratulations!

To make this card you will need:

  • Forever Friends "Hugs & Cuddles" paper pack (6 x 6 in) - I purchased mine in Hobbycraft but they do not seem to stock it anymore - if you like, you can purchase it through my blog's link
  • White card paper (15 x 30cm)
  •  Pink-check card paper (15 x 15cm) - from the Forever Friends "Hugs & Cuddles" paper pack
  • Raspberry pink card paper (10 x 10cm)
  •  Pale yellow card paper (9 x 9cm)
  • Message outline sticker "Congratulations"
  • Double sided tape
  • Craft foam pads (I used Stix 2mm thick - it makes the 3D effect more noticeable - but you can use thinner craft foam pads if you prefer)

Find the picture of the bear wrapped in a bath towel. You will need 3 of those.

Cut out parts of the 3 pictures as shown in the picture bellow.

From the first picture cut out an outline of the whole bear wrapped in the towel. From the second picture card cut out an outline of the bear's left leg, then cheeks-mouth-nose with the towel and right hand and right leg as shown in the picture above. From the third card cut out bears left leg and right leg with a piece of the towel as shown on the picture above. Also cut out few of the bubbles. This bit is quite fiddly and it does take some time to cut it all out (I used nail scissors) but the rest is very quick and easy.

Take white card 15cm x 30cm and fold it in half. Take a pink-checks card paper (size 15cm x 15cm) and using double sided tape attach it to the white card. Take a pale yellow card (9 x 9 cm) and attach it to the raspberry pink card (10 x 10 cm) using double sided tape. Attach the pale yellow-raspberry pink card paper to the middle of the pink-checks card using foam pads.

Now it's time to use the cut out parts of the bear and the bubbles. Take the cut outs from the first picture card (whole bear wrapped in the towel) and attach them to the pale yellow card using double sided tape. Take the cut outs from the second picture card and attach them to the card over the original picture using foam pads. Then take the cut outs from the 3rd picture card and again attach them to the picture on the card using foam pads, creating layers. Also attach bubbles using foam pads (see picture of the finished card).

Attach a message outline sticker to the card.

How about to make it even more original by making your own envelope that would fit your new card perfectly??

It is very easy and will take only about 10 to 15 minutes to make. You do not need many things for it either. All you need is paper, double sided tape, ruler and scissors.

This envelope will fit a card measuring 15 x 15cm. Notice that I added extra 1cm to the width and length so that there is enough room for the card.
Section B on the picture is the actual size of the envelope.  Sections A and C will fold over and will overlap; in this case by 4cm (12cm + 8 cm - 16cm).

      Lets do it...... :)

Draw the template of the envelope on the paper you selected. As A4 format of the paper was not big enough for the envelope, I joined 2 A4 card papers together using double sided tape.

Cut it out.

Fold the sides in as on the picture.

Attach double sided tape to the sides marked on the template as D1 and D2.

Fold over side A and attach it to the D1 and D2.

Put double sided tape along the edge of the envelope and your handmade self-seal envelope is done!

How quick and easy was that?? :)

  • Double sided tape
  • Craft foam pads (I used Stix 2mm thick - it makes the 3D effect more noticeable - but you can use thinner craft foam pads if you prefer)

Find the picture of the bear with the balloons opening a present. You will need 3 of those.

Cut out parts of the 3 pictures as shown in the picture bellow.

From the first picture cut out the whole outline of the bear with the present (ribbons at this stage are optional) as well as the 2 balloons. From the second picture cut out the outline of the bear (without the ears) with the box and the lid as shown in the top left corner of the picture above. From the third card cut out bear's left hand with the lid, then bear's left leg with the box and the ribbon and then the two balloons as shown on the right side of the white card in the picture above.
This bit is a bit fiddly and it does take a bit of time to cut it all out (I used nail scissors) but the rest is very quick and easy.

Take white card 15cm x 30cm and fold it in half. Take a lilac card paper (size 15cm x 15cm) and using double sided tape attach it to the white card.

Now it's time to use the cut out parts of the bear. Take the cut outs from the first picture (whole bear with the present and the balloons) and attach it to the lilac card using double sided tape. With a black pencil draw balloon strings on the lilac card. Take the outline of the bear with the box and the lid (from the 2nd picture) and using foam pads attach it to the picture on the card. Then take the cut outs from the third picture and again attach them to the picture on the card using foam pads.

Add message outline sticker and stars on the card.
