Cute Handmade 3D Decoupage Cards - 5 - Cuddly Rabbit

Congratulations on the new arrival - baby boy!!!

To make this card you will need:

  • Forever Friends "Hugs & Cuddles" paper pack (6 x 6 in) - I purchased mine in Hobbycraft, however if you like you can purchase it through Amazon (direct link is on my blog)
  • White card paper (15 x 30cm)
  •  Blue-checks card paper (15 x 15cm) - from the "Hugs & Cuddles" paper pack
  •  Pale yellow card paper (9 x 9cm)
  • Blue card paper (10 x 10 cm)
  • Message outline sticker "Congratulations"
  • 4 Adhesive gems -blue
  • Double sided tape
  • Craft foam pads (I used Stix 2mm thick - it makes the 3D effect more noticeable - but you can use thinner craft foam pads if you prefer)

Find the picture of the rabbit. You will need 3 of those.

Cut out parts of the 3 pictures as shown in the picture bellow.

From the first picture cut out the whole outline of the rabbit and the tag with the bow. From the second picture cut out an outline of the rabbit's legs, hands and head with the ears as shown in the picture above. From the third card cut out rabbit's ears, nose and mouth and feet and a heart from the tag as shown on the top right corner of the picture above. This bit is quite fiddly and it does take some time to cut it all out (I used nail scissors) but the rest is very quick and easy.

Take white card 15cm x 30cm and fold it in half. Take a blue-checks card paper (size 15cm x 15cm) and using double sided tape attach it to the white card. Take a pale yellow card (9 x 9 cm) and attach it to the blue card (10 x 10 cm) using double sided tape. Attach the pale yellow-blue card paper to the middle of the blue-checks card using foam pads.

Now it's time to use the cut out parts of the rabbit and the tag. Take the cut outs from the first picture card and attach them to the pale yellow card (Attach the outline of the rabbit to the card using double sided tape and the tag using foam pads). Take the cut outs from the second picture card and attach them to the card over the pictures using foam pads. Then take the cut outs from the 3rd picture card and again attach them to the picture on the card using foam pads, creating layers.

Attach a blue gem to the heart and 3 blue gems to the top right of the card. Add a message outline sticker.

How about to make it even more original by making your own envelope that would fit your new card perfectly??

It is very easy and will take only about 10 to 15 minutes to make. You do not need many things for it either. All you need is paper, double sided tape, ruler and scissors.

This envelope will fit a card measuring 15 x 15cm. Notice that I added extra 1cm to the width and length so that there is enough room for the card.
Section B on the picture is the actual size of the envelope.  Sections A and C will fold over and will overlap; in this case by 4cm (12cm + 8 cm - 16cm).

      Lets do it...... :)

Draw the template of the envelope on the paper you selected. As A4 format of the paper was not big enough for the envelope, I joined 2 A4 card papers together using double sided tape.

Cut it out.

Fold the sides in as on the picture.

Attach double sided tape to the sides marked on the template as D1 and D2.

Fold over side A and attach it to the D1 and D2.

Put double sided tape along the edge of the envelope and your handmade self-seal envelope is done!

How quick and easy was that?? :)
