Cute Handmade 3D Decoupage Cards - 2 - Bear Opening a Present

To make this card you will need:

  • Forever Friends "Party Time" paper pack (6 x 6 in) - I purchased mine in Hobbycraft, however if you like you can purchase it through Amazon (direct link is on my blog)
  • Navy blue card paper (10 x 10 cm)
  • Cream card paper (9 x 9 cm)
  • Lilac card paper (15 x 15 cm)
  • White card paper (15 x 30cm)
  • Message outline sticker
  • Double sided tape
  • Craft foam pads (I used Stix 2mm thick - it makes the 3D effect more noticeable - but you can use thinner craft foam pads if you prefer)

Find the picture of the bear with the balloons opening a present. You will need 3 of those.

Cut out parts of the 3 pictures as shown in the picture bellow.

From the first picture cut out the whole outline of the bear with the present (ribbons at this stage are optional) as well as the 2 balloons. From the second picture cut out the outline of the bear (without the ears) with the box and the lid as shown in the top left corner of the picture above. From the third card cut out bear's left hand with the lid, then bear's left leg with the box and the ribbon and then the two balloons as shown on the right side of the white card in the picture above.
This bit is a bit fiddly and it does take a bit of time to cut it all out (I used nail scissors) but the rest is very quick and easy.

Take white card 15cm x 30cm and fold it in half. Take a lilac card paper (size 15cm x 15cm) and using double sided tape attach it to the white card. Take cream card paper (9 x 9cm) and attach it to the navy blue card paper (10 x 10cm) using a double sided tape. Attach the cream-navy blue card paper to the middle of the lilac card using foam pads.

Now it's time to use the cut out parts of the bear. Take the cut outs from the first picture (whole bear with the present and the balloons) and attach it to the cream card using double sided tape. With a black pencil draw balloon strings on the cream card. Take the outline of the bear with the box and the lid (from the 2nd picture) and using foam pads attach it to the picture on the card. Then take the cut outs from the third picture and again attach them to the picture on the card using foam pads.

Add message outline sticker of your choice to the card.

To make your card even more special make your own envelope. You can find a detailed description on how to make it in my blog's archive (March 2012).

Cute Handmade 3D Decoupage Cards - 1 - Bear Opening a Present

To make this card you will need:

  • Forever Friends "Party Time" paper pack (6 x 6 in) - I purchased mine in Hobbycraft, however if you like you can purchase it through Amazon (direct link is on my blog)
  • Adhesive ribbon in pale pink
  • White card paper (15 x 30cm)
  • Message outline sticker
  • Double sided tape
  • Craft foam pads (I used Stix 2mm thick - it makes the 3D effect more noticeable - but you can use thinner craft foam pads if you prefer)

Find the picture of the bear with the balloons opening a present. You will need 3 of those.

Cut out parts of the 2 pictures (keep the 3rd one on side for now) as shown in the picture bellow.

From the first picture cut out an outline of the bear (without the ears) with the box and the lid as shown in the top left corner of the picture above. From the second card cut out bear's left hand with the lid, then bear's left leg with the box and the ribbon and then the two balloons as shown on the right side of the white card in the picture above. This bit is a bit fiddly and it does take a bit of time to cut it all out (I used nail scissors) but the rest is very quick and easy.

Take white card 15cm x 30cm and fold it in half. Take the 3rd card with the picture of the bear and cut off the left side of the card alongside the Happy Birthday message (cutting the message off). Then using double sided tape attach the card with the picture of the bear to the right of the folded white card. Take the adhesive ribbon and attach it to the card along the left edge of the picture card so that the ribbon is overlapping both pink and white card, thus covering the cut line.

Now it's time to use the cut out parts of the bear. Take the outline of the bear with the box and the lid (from the 1st picture) and using foam pads attach it to the picture on the card. Then take the cut outs from the second picture and again attach them to the picture on the card using foam pads.

Add message outline sticker of your choice to the card.

Cute Handmade 3D Decoupage Cards

The last two weeks I spent designing a new set of cards. The theme is cute and sweet. Some of the cards were designed to celebrate a new baby arrival but of course Happy Birthday and Best Wishes cards are not missing. It is up to you for which occasion you decide to make your card. Most cards are suitable for various occasions. Just use a message outline sticker of your choice.

The cards are designed in 3D decoupage style. They are not difficult to make. They will take a bit more time to make than if you buy the pre-cut decoupage sets but at least it will be more rewarding as your card will be original.

To make the cards I used Forever Friends "Hugs & Cuddles" and "Party Time" paper packs (6 x 6in). I purchased mine in Hobbycraft. I cannot find them on their website anymore so it is quite likely that they don't stock it anymore. However if you would like to use the same paper packs you can buy them in Amazon (the link is supplied on my blog).

Other craft supplies needed are

  • Anita's Dimensions Outline Stickers - Cakes
  • Anita's Dimensions Outline Stickers - Flowers
  • Double sided tape
  • Craft foam pads
  • Card paper - various colours
  • Message outline stickers of your choice
I will list all craft supplies needed for each card project as when the design is published.
